 Hey Everyone: Keep May 10th 2008 Open for the First Benefit Catfish/Bass Big Catch to Benefit Riley Childrens Hospital. There are 2 divisions Catfish or Bass. The hours will be 4pm to 10 pm. Preregistration forms will be available at the boat sport and travel show or at Gander Mountain stores. Take off positions will be by the registration. Also preregistration will be $100 or day of event $125. There will be a 2 fish limit. Lots of door prizes and along with Gander Mountain, Denny's Marina will also be a co sponsor of the event. We will also be filming for a show on Ultimate Outdoors with Eddie Brochan. We may even have hotdogs and chips and drinks before the event depending on weather at the time. So come on out and have a great time and lets help the kids at Riley Childrens Hospital. I will add anything that comes up between now and then including what door prizes we have and added sponsors. If you know of any business or individual who would like to be a sponsor or donate a door prize contact Ron Streeter @ 317-788-4594 and thanks.

Hey anyone wanting to fish the benefit tournament at Geist We are going to waive the late fee for entries due to the ramp fee. Come on out Saturday and lets help Gleaners Food Bank and catch some fish. Hours are 4 pm until 10 pm.

:drink Congrats to Walt and His partner for a great finish with 24.6 lbs (2 fish) in the catfish division and in the bass division Congrats to Lenny and his partner with 2.6 lbs. I would like to thank those that came out and supported Gleaners Food Bank. We had really good weather and alot of fish caught with most teams weighing in 16lbs.

how many teams ended up showing up

I think there were 6 cat boats and 2 bass boats. The economy and $28 ramp fees are killing these tournaments. Has anyone come up with a hybrid boat motor yet? (besides a trolling motor)

$28 ramp fee
The $28 ramp fee is rediculous, i would like to have more tournaments on geist or just to pleasure fish there more often but at $28 to launch + gas, That is just way too much. Is it possible to get with the owner and see if we as ICA Members, or any association member in the state of indiana, can get a discount? I would definately fish more often. I'd like to go and catch fresh shad saturday morning before the tournament, but not for $28.

They won't give anyone a break. I tried with the benefit tournament and they said that if they did it for one they would have to do it for everyone. I think that Geist and Morse are what you call a pay lake. If you try to fish from the bank the cops run you off for no parking so you have to pay to put in same as at a pay lake. As for the fee it is high but it would cost me more to go to Monroe or Patoka so I live with it. :vomit

if you are just wanting to get out and pleasure fish it, wait till about 10 pm to launch your boat. they are usually gone by then. ive done that a bunch and some other guys i know do it alot also. they never have said anything the next morning when we have came in.
