livewell capacity Hey fellow catters...newbie chiming in! As I contemplate crossing over to tournament catfishing I am concerned that my live well space is too small to fit the huge fish I would no doubt catch. I run an '89 Basstracker. The live well is 12X12X30 and fills to the top. I have kept 5 channels from 8 to 11lbs alive and fiesty for hours with the pump on continuously but some of the waters y'all fish can produce that plus a huge kicker! Can I get some examples of l.w. capacities from your boats? I would love to come down there and show you how its done(lol) but I wont jepordize fish survival just to win some money...

Alot of us have the livewell that the boat comes with and that works great on most lakes. What we use for the rivers that produce bigger fish is to use the biggest cooler with an in cooler recirculating pump. Some ( like me ) use a truck tool box with the same pump.

For the big rivers, a smaller horse trough works well..

I'VE USED A TRUCK TOOL BOX AS WELL AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM BUT, I'VE BEEN CAUTIONED ABOUT USING DARK COLORED BOXES DURING THE DAY DUE TO INCREASING WATER TEMPRATURES TO HIGH
BECAUSE OF THE DARKER COLOR ATRACTING SUNLIGHT
